Visual Studio Tips and Tricks - VI

(This is a part of my series Visual Studio Tips and Tricks – VI)

One of the most important feature which I think is lacking in the the Visual Studio shell, is allowing us to close all documents. They do have the feature to close all other documents beside the current one, but it still doesn’t full fill all my requirements.

Thus it requires me to execute a series of commands to close all the open documents which is really a waste of time. In order to solve this solution you can press Alt W, L to Close All Documents.

ya. tats true. the shortcut basically executes the commands you just told. but knowing this shortcut, speeds up your coding, rather then goin through mulitiple mouse clicks or search them in the menu. after all, alt selectes the menu.

For your blog engine version, it actually depends. But as usual it is recommended to use the latest version of the blogengine as their support such as adddins and plugins will be uptodate with it. Later on upgrading to a new version also becomes easier.
i did check out your blog and it seems you are using wordpress. wordpress contains a lot more plugins. but for me i prefer blog engine because it is written with .net and i can actually look up at the source code and modify it and even create my own plugins to suit my needs. i haven't used wordpress so sorry if i cannot tell you more on these stuffs.

What I like to do is stick the Close All But This as a button on my toolbar.
