Using Checkbox to Select Multiple Files
Having a Tablet PC installed with Windows Vista and now Windows 7, I have been enjoying some of the unique features of the tablet pc provided by Windows.
One of the great feature I use is the checkbox to select multiple items. This can be done using ctrl or shift keys, but using checkbox becomes more easier. By default in tablet pc, this is enabled as you can see below. Isn’t it just cool.
During the old Windows XP days, separate edition of Windows had to be used, but as from Vista it gets bundled in the core OS. And by default Tablet PC components are already a part of default OS installation (if yours is not installed, you can install it from control by turning the windows tablet pc components feature on).
Now to have that in your normal (non-tablet pc), open windows explorer (my computer or any location), then click Alt key to show the File menu if it isn’t there. Under the Tools menu click Folder Options.
Then select the View tab at the top and scroll down in the advanced settings. Check the “Use check boxes to select items”. Click the OK button.
Now its much easier to select multiple files without using keyboard and mouse.
